The latest collection from SPACE Furniture (www.spacefurniture.com)
Like all Patricia Urquiola's creations, the Pavo armchair designed for Driade is a masterpiece by itself. Constructed from a painted steel structure covered with brown wicker, this armchair is shaped through a complex work of the mould and the tedious manual effort that went into creating it.
Original in design yet extremely comfortable and soft, Tufty Time sofas designed by Patricia Urquiola for B&B Italia consist of large-scale square tufts which allows for free and versatile composition possibilities. Tufty-Time is not only re-interpretation of the past, but also an excellent, innovative solution for issues such as modularity, comfort and removable covers.
The spirit of experimentation and exploration of Patricia Urquiola is translated into Canasta, B&B Italia's latest outdoor collection. Canasta, which means basket in Spanish, is inspired by the woven patterns and conical shape that is similar to basket. Completed with cushions specially created for outdoor use, this linear sofa with high backrest is like a piece of art amidst a lush outdoor scenery.
Combining the creative vision of Patricia Urquiola with the technological prowess of Kartell, the T-Table carefully alternates density and space. The sturdy and durable table with a delicate appearance captures maximum light and creates a striking chiaroscuro effect. This creative design is what the designer describes as a "transgenic table" and a "technological fossil".
With a back made up of two sheets glass with a special film inside, the Lens bookcase from B&B Italia casts a kaleidoscopic effect reminiscent of lead sealed glass facades in 18th century Venetian palaces. Combining crystal with slender frames to create the interplay of glass and transparency, this original design by Patricia Urquiola introduces a great theatrical effect to any space.
